Kitchen Crayon is a personal blog. Everything here is based on my own experience selling and designing kitchen cabinets, and on what I saw in that job. It is not professional advice.
What that means in practice:
Prices, timelines, and product details change. Anything I quote is what I saw when I was doing the work, at the dealers and manufacturers I dealt with. Your quote will be different. Verify anything that matters with your own dealer, in writing, before you sign.
Some of what I write is opinion. Design is taste. When I tell you a cabinet looks wrong to me, that’s a designer’s judgment, not a fact, and you’re allowed to disagree.
I don’t speak for any manufacturer or dealer. When I name a brand, it’s because I used it or sold it, not because anyone asked me to. I am not sponsored by, affiliated with, or compensated by any company I mention. Nothing here is an endorsement, and nothing here is a complaint against a company I don’t name.
Your kitchen is not my kitchen. Every job has its own room, its own budget, its own contractor, and its own surprises. Nothing on this site is a recommendation for your specific project, and I have no way to know your situation.
Use your own judgment. I can’t accept responsibility for decisions you make based on what you read here. If a decision has real money or real consequences attached — and in a kitchen, most of them do — talk to the people who are actually standing in your room.
If you think I’ve gotten something wrong, tell me. I’d rather fix it.
